Thanks for your comments on my blog. I have had several poems published. After the space shuttle Challenger was lost with all aboard, I was affected emotionally. After several days, I felt the presence of those who died urging me to convey a message to the world that there is so much to be learned in space and this disaster should not stop the human drive to explore the cosmos. This is what I wrote:My mind has crossed a million starsAnd I have seen a thousand sleepless nights.Pain and fear grips my restless soulAs I ponder what lies for me untold. But since that fateful day in ’86I’ve heard the voices of seven echoing from Heaven. They paid the price for what they knewHad courage and direction to guide them through. Now the clouds have lifted and the message is clear. It is one of challenge to all mankind!!!A challenge to continue the search–to continue the climb!Life is more than mere survival. It is love, compassion, understanding,And the constant search of knowledgeWith a never ending drive for new horizons. The gauntlet has been tossed and ours to heed its call.To live, to love, to discover———-   Is the greatest challenge for us all!!!!!!Have a great weekend!              ////////////// Doug ////////////
